«Mike Pompeo: Religious persecution in Iran must end now»

A statement by Secretary of State ,» Mike Pompeo» in USA TODAY newspaper. Mohabat News reported.

Last month, «Mohammad Salas», a member of the Gonabadi Dervish community was arrested and  persecuted by the Iranian regime for his religion beliefs. He was executed on following of violent conflict between security forces and Gonabadi dervishes.

Mr. Salas and his supporters emphasized on his innocence but he had been tortured into a forced confession. unfortunately on June 18 the Iranian regime executed Mr. Salas in the  Rajai Shahr Prison.

Salas’s death was just a small part of suppression against the Gonabadi dervishes.

Hundreds of dervishes have been imprisoned  because of their beliefs and a number of them were killed by brutal security forces in Iran.

The religious intolerance of the Iranian regime includes Christians, Jews, Sunnis, Baha’is, Zoroastrians, and other minorities,that only practice the ceremonials.

A lot of adherents from innumerable beleifs all around the world suffer from lack of human rights.

«Religious freedom is a God-given right to which all people are entitled. «said President Donald Trump,and this is why he is taking action to protect religious freedom around the world.

On July 24-26, the State Department will hold a meeting by presence of religious leaders, civil society groups, survivors of religious persecution, and delegations from foreign governments for the first «Ministerial to Advance Religious Freedom in Washington, D.C.»

Vice President Mike Pence and other officials will also be participating.

Our goal is simple:» to promote the God-given human right to believe what you want to believe.»
